Whooo areee youuu?
Mr. Caterpillar takes
a smooth, long drag
His breath spirals
I can nearly see
the words
the smoke hits my face
I cough, realizing
I don’t know anymore.
He takes a drag, amused
“Tell us a story,
I know you’re not boring”
the smoke hits my face
A cough strangles my throat
but my eyes fill with love,
or lust
Hard to tell these days…
Oh, but I like it hard
I like Mr. Caterpillar
He knows what I don’t
The smoke hits my face again
Whoooo are youuuu?
I start to cough
“I hardly know, sir
Thought I knew when
I got up this morning
but I’ve changed
several times since,”
How can you say that?
He looks at me,
annoyed
Let me tell you
You aren’t anything at all,
a Humbug!
You masquerade
as a beautiful girl
Come, beautiful girl
come away with me
try this mushroom,
if you like
grow tall with me…
If you take this mushroom,
I’ll like you indeed
How I want him to like me!
I want to appease
He blows smoke in my face again
Oh, Mr. Caterpillar
I don’t feel so right
My head’s feeling dizzy
my feet are out of sight!
That smoke,
it makes me ill!
I’m feeling a fright
This technicolor wonderland
I’m not too fond of
anymore
Take me back to the days
when the air was
clear to breathe
but he only laughs at me.
Mr. Caterpillar,
You abuse me,
I don’t like you
anymore.
But it’s too late,
the mushrooms been ate
The smoke’s in my lungs
I’ll never be the same.
